Snow Lake Lodge Vermont

Anonymous said...

One winter, we decided that we were going to go on a skiing vacation. We wanted to do something on the East Coast and we had researched skiing resorts close to home. We looked at ski resorts in Vermont, some of the larger ones were Killington, Stowe, and Sugarbush, then I found this resort in southern Vermont called Mount Snow. It was only around a five hour drive from Baltimore, and I really didnt want to do a large resort.

We found great lodge right on Mount Snow Lake. It was called the Snow Lake Lodge. Although it was small in comparison to some of the places we have been it offered an ambiance that was well worth the money. We had a great view of the mountain, and walking outside the lodge we could see where the lake was, albeit that the lake was frozen solid, it was still a spectacular sight to see.

Like I said the lodge itself was small, around 90- 100 guest rooms total, so there wasn’t that feeling of being overwhelmed. The center of the lodge boasted a huge fireplace, the overlook from the main room of the lodge gave a view of the mountain side. There were hot tubs available, sitting outside in those hot tubs with your swim suit on and the snow all around was a unique experience. The rooms were spacious, we got a room with two double beds. There were suites available but we didn’t need that. We had cable TV and a bar inside the lodge. The food from the restaurant wasn’t that bad, it wasn’t that good, but it wasn’t bad either. The price was reasonable, we spent around $110.00 per night, then they offered a shuttle service to the mountain. All in all it was a pleasant stay. I think that I would stay there again.
