Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille, Saint Augustine, FL

Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille, Saint Augustine, FL

I had always had a great meal at Harry’s Jacksonville Beach location but on my 1st visit to the St. Augustine location, May 2009, I was not satified with the meal or the service. Unfortunately they have closed the Harry’s Jacksonville Beach location, which was outstanding.

We did not have a long wait and we were escorted to the 2nd floor which had a nice view of the water and Bridge of Lions, but there was a musty odor. The floors were sticky and the room smelled of stale alcohol. While we were waiting for our dinner, a large pirate ship sailed by and unfortunately that was the best part of our meal.

I ordered the Shrimp Po’boy and a cup of clam chowder. The soup was ok, nothing special and was very thick, almost too thick, like it had been cooking too long and there were very few clams in my portion. The Shrimp Po’Boy was just an oversized french bread roll with a few shrimp, not nearly enough to fill the sandwich.

The service was non-existent even though it really wasn’t that busy, we had to flag a waitress to refill our beverages and get the check. I won’t be going back.
