Action! Event Pro

I have worked for a company based out of San Diego called Action! Event Pro. According to their independent contractor agreement, they send payment out between the 15th - 20th of month following the event worked. I did an event November 8, 2008 and November 15th for a Listerine promotion. I also worked an event November 28, 2008 and November 30, 2008 for an Axe promotion. My checks were BOTH supposed to go out between December 15 - 29th, 2008. I was told December 24, 2008 that my Listerine check was mailed out December 18, 2008. When I FINALLY received my check, on December, 28,2008, the post mark from the post office in San Diego said December 24, 2008!!!! i still have not received my other check, which I was supposed to receive right along with the first one!!!! I was also told on December 24, 2998 that my 2nd check was getting signed BY THE OWNER right then and going in the mail. When I had not received my check, I finally called Thursday, January 1, 2009, I was informed that the owner DID NOT sign my check and he was on vacation until the 5th. It is now the 9th of January 2009 and I do not have my check!!! I called the agency only to have the owner treat me with attitude and he hung up on me, when he should have been apologizing to me. Because of this error on THEIR part, I incurred a $100.00 late fee because my rent was late--DUE TO THEIR MISTAKE!!! ACTION! EVENT PRO--DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!!!
