Gary's Pool and Patio

Gary's Pool and Patio

Be careful before hiring this company to install your new pool! They quoted us one price for tile/coping on the pool and spa (which were purchased at the same time on the same contract) and later the sales person tells us those are separate, and we have to pay more for the tile and coping on the spa, more than $2k! They caused ruts in our yard, and broke part of our fence which they refuse to fix. Our dogs have been living in our garage for over 2 months waiting for this pool to be done. They are 3 weeks late in delivering the spa to us, promises promises promises. They wanted to charge us 59 hours for rock digging, when less than 10 hours was actually spent doing the rock digging. And at $160 per hour, that's a hefty ripoff. Their contract is vague and being a first time pool buyer, never having done this before, was unaware of the traps and tricks a pool company can do to you. Ask your friends, neighbors, etc. what they went through when buying their pool, so you get EVERYTHING in writing before you buy. And Keith Zars, is related to Gary's so be cautious of them as well. Keith Zars was actually contracted by Gary's to do the digging of our pool without us even knowing it. Stay clear of this company, the owner won't even help you he refers everything to his general manager who has no backbone and wont honor what her sales person committed too.

  2. I have to agree with you. They were late on completion, then they had to replaster not more than 2 months later because there were so many rough spots, a poor job overall, they didn't build the dam between the pool and the hot tub high enough so we asked them to fix it and it's shocking to me how bad that job was done. Our pool is just over 2 years old and there are several cracks in the hot tub, the pool, the jets don't shoot on the steps so they don't stay clear, the tile has already come off in the hot tub and there are cracks in the tile and the pool deck is not what we expected. The work was very poor, in my opinion. We were originally told we could use our existing pool equipment, but that didn't pan out so we spent an additional $5K on new equipment. Last September I noticed the water level was low, so I filled it back to where it was supposed to be, only to wake up the next morning to the lower level again. I called a pool company we have used for years because they are very helpful and I was told there had to be a leak in one of the lines. They let us do the digging and I found the leak, then they fixed it for us. That cost us $2K. I feel we were deceived and I am so angry at the condition of the pool now. We are attempting to sell our home and the pool is a big drawback. Nobody wants to purchase an existing problem...I have tried to write to see if anyone from Gary would care to come to my home and tell me this is what they consider quality work, but have gotten no response. I'll give it another couple of weeks before taking further action.

  3. Gary's Pool and Patio is the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to get involved with. They did not make good on any of their promises. They had to hire new sub contractors because they owed their usual contractors for work previously done for which the subcontactors had never received payment. They told the county they had fired people who never worked for them. I finally had to just abandon Gary and his crew and go outside and have my pool completed. Do not do business with these people unless you plan to have several months of heart ache.

  4. I am writing this in reference to Gary's Pool & Patio, Dominick and his crew who put in our pool. I want to thank Dominick who did an outstanding job in overseeing everything that was done to our pool. We are so pleased with our pool. It came out beautiful and more than we had expected it to. We would highly recommend Gary's Pool and Patio. A big thumbs up! Excellent job!

  6. I just want everyone to know that we purchased a pool from Gary's and Mike Williams was the person that over saw our job, we had a good experience and then the people that were brought in to do our deck job and a whole lot of extras did a wonderful job. I am very happy & want to thank Felix & his guys because I have a beautiful back yard thanks to them, they did my landscaping as well.

  7. I purchased my pool from Keith Zars Pools back in 2005 and was quite pleased with the service and product. However, our flagstone started to deteriorate almost immediately and after 4 years Zars admitted it was the salt system they installed. This was July 2009 and after almost a year of unkept start dates I filed a complaint with the BBB. They finally began the replacement in May 2010. Now 4 months months later and after the rebuilding of the hot tub twice, it is still an inferior product and it seems no one there really cares, including the owner.

  8. STAY CLEAR! have a leaking pool and they refuse to even call me back! They claim that they can not contact Gary! These guys are a fly by night operation, use a real pool company and don't give anyone the full price up front.

  9. I have had the same problem. Nearly 2 years after installation and they still have not addressed the cracking, crumbling deck their unskilled butcher cement sub contractors installed. Not to mention trying to charge me for a brand new pump motor when the original fried after only a year. They were going to charge $700 plus install because they claimed it was out of warranty. I went to another pool company and they hooked me up with a brand new motor at NO cost because miraculously it WAS still under warranty! I'm through being ignored, lied to cheated and living with my eyesore of a pool! Reporting to the BBB and filing a lawsuit against them... see you in court!!!
